This piece is made by first laying out a base shape in cloud coloured wool roving, and then placing puffs of coloured wool on top the base. I take time to fit all of the pieces together until they work well as a whole and really sing together in a wooly sort of way.

After that, I felt them together. And once the piece is ready, I sew it onto an 1/2” oak dowel. The felted shapes end up with a lovely boiled wool texture that adds a lot of warmth to a room.

The wool portion of this piece measures, 10.5×13.5” and the overall width and height that it requires on the wall is, 12× 16.5”.
