Scrap Snack II

Scrap Snack II
These Scrap Snacks are an exploration in bite sized maximalism. There is nothing more inspiring to me than a pile of scraps. Unexpected colour pairings, strange shapes, and the energy of something leftover, the shadow of the original creation.
I wanted to give these scraps the attention they deserve in this new design. I first shape a base of cream Merino Wool, and then I sprinkle a big ol’ pile of scraps on top. I try not to interfere too much with colour placement but I do make a couple of intuitive tweaks to the design.
Once they have all been smashed together through the process of wet felting, I sew them onto a small dowel cut off that has been leftover from creating the larger wall hangings. I rarely throw things away, and these pieces are an ode to leftovers everywhere.
The wool portion of this piece measures, 5 1/2× 8” and the overall width and height that it requires on the wall is, 6 1/2× 10 1/4”.
This piece is in stock and ready to ship.
